Serve at Oak Island

Thank you for your willingness to serve the family of FBC Oak Island! Our goal is to introduce you to many of the opportunities for serving inside the church as well as help you connect into the community of believers here at FBC Oak Island.

SERVE TEAMS

We rely on multiple teams for the success of our Sunday Morning Services here at First Baptist Church of Oak Island. Please consider serving our church family in one or more of these teams, and join us in being the hands and feet of Christ.

The Teller Team serves by accurately counting and recording the church’s financial gifts with integrity, confidentiality, and care. This behind-the-scenes ministry helps ensure faithful stewardship and accountability in support of the church’s mission.

Jesus loves kids, and so does FBC Oak Island. Help teach our kids to know and love Jesus by serving in Island Kids. There are many different roles within kids ministry for all kinds of gifts like teachers, classroom volunteers, music, and kids check-in.

The Check-In Team creates a welcoming environment and assists families with checking in, dropping off, and picking up children in all Island Kids areas.

This team uses technology to enhance the service experiences for weekend services and special events. If you love people and enjoy serving behind the scenes, this is the spot for you.

Help us welcome those coming to church by holding the doors, directing people to where they need to go and just being a friendly face.

This team welcomes guests by answering questions and providing resources and information about our Sunday services, life groups and any of our gatherings throughout the month.

These volunteers have a heart for and walk relationally with 6th-12th grade students in group and one-on-one ministry settings. .

This friendly team is focused on all aspects of safety and security, especially for our kids and families as they attend services. This includes security, ushers, parking, and the medical response team.

FBC Oak Island loves to worship Jesus together on weekends through song. If you are musically gifted, we are looking to incorporate lots of different people and styles into our weekend services. Choir, Guitar, Drums, etc.

A core value at FBC Oak Island is creating a sense of community. Much of the time spent in community is through gatherings where a warm and welcoming environment is provided. This group of servants facilitates the organization and service of food and refreshments for Wednesday Night Supper, Sunday mornings and other church events.

These volunteers lead and host small groups all over the Island. This also includes leading men’s, women’s, and student groups. We will need to get to know you for a season before getting you plugged in in this area, but let us know if you are interested to start the process.

This team creates and distributes written, video, and digital content through the church’s various channels including the website and social media. This includes the photography and video team.

The Set-Up/Take-Down Team helps set up for Pier worship at Ocean Crest Pier on Sunday Morning.

Help us bring encouragement and the love of Christ to our church family members who are in the hospital.

The Property and Space team’s sole focus is to ready the campus and maintain the church property.

The office volunteers play a vital role in the day-to-day needs of our church. Volunteers on this team would be coming in during the week to ensure bulletins are printed, prayer cards are stocked, phones are answered, and a number of other responsibilities where we could use a few extra hands.

The recreation team serves the church by meeting the recreational needs of members and groups such as softball, volleyball, basketball, festivals, Vacation Bible School, and Sport Camp.
